Helping Horses Helps People - World Horse Welfare

Hello, I am Freya. To start I would like to thank you for having interest in my blog about World Horse Welfare. I choose the charity Word Horse Welfare as my GCSE because I feel strongly about it. I am aware that World Horse Welfare is the most well known horse charity there is, but I would like to give you more information on there on-going project in Nicaragua.

My main aim of this blog is to make people aware that the people and horses of Nicaragua need more support for this cause. World Horse Welfare’s aim has always been to help horses all around the world since it established in 1927. All they need is £4.99 for one horse to have a care pack which includes the tools to look after these horses.

As you already know millions of horses around the world are in very bad conditions and are fighting for strength. Nicaragua is one of the poorest countries, with high levels of poverty and unemployment and now contains an estimated 400,000 working horses. These horses are suffering from parasites, lameness, recurring rub wounds, untreated injuries and infections. To help World Horse Welfare have launched a training program in the country to help people with the needs of the community and to provide the foundation for a change in the way people harness and shoe their horses. They have also created a care pack; which is making a huge difference to each and every horse everyday as these horses are in desperate need of daily care. But they can’t help them alone, they need YOU to support and donate to help the horses and people of Nicaragua.

Thank you again for taking interest and reading blog. Please can you now post me response of your thoughts on my blog? It would be brilliant if you could do a few words in answer to my questions and help as much as you want. If you want to look at further information it’s at http://www.worldhorsewelfare.org/Nicaragua.

  • Had you heard about the problems caused for horses in Nicaragua before?
  • Do you now feel more informed about the issues faced by horses in Nicaragua
  • Would you now be prepared to do any of the following things to improve the lives of horses and people in Nicaragua …
  1. Make a donation to World Horse Welfare, Care to Share Appeal?
  2. Start or join a FUND raising campaign?
  3. Tell your family and friends about the Care to Share Appeal.
  4. Send some old hoof picks in

Please can you tell me where you come from e.g. home town and country ( if not UK) if you post a response.
Thank you!
Freya

  1. great to see more people concerned with horse welfare, unfortunately you dont have to go as far as Nicaragua to see horses in need.
please visit http://www.racehorsesanctuary.org/ and like them on facebook, the more followers they have the more funding they attract and the more horses they can help
