Bypass Best for Bay
Thank you for taking the time to look at my blog. The issue I am advocating is the Kingskerswell bypass issue. I am trying to raise awareness for the issue as it is not very well know and therefore nothing has happened about it and I really hope that something can be done. I would really like to get people more interested in the matter and try to make a difference. After reading my blog I hope you will know and understand why the bypass is best for the bay.
Many people drive through Kingskerswell every day, leaving the village polluted by cars (as seen by picture above). However having the bypass built has many advantages here are some examples.
• The bypass will act as an alternative to the A380
• It would benefit local businesses, residents, and the massive tourism
• It would reduce traffic and delays
• It will reduce the cars along that road therefore it will cause fewer accidents also helping to not halt traffic when there is an accident
• Would shorten the time of journeys
• It will help lower pollution and noise for local residents
• It will make Kingskerswell a nicer and more enjoyable place for everyone
Thank you again for reading my blog. Please take the time to answer the questions below with your thoughts to help me get your opinion across.
1. Had you heard of this issue before reading my blog?
2. Do you feel more informed about the bypass?
3. Has your opinion about the issue changed and if so why?
Chloe

I live in Kingskerswell so i know all about the problems that the bypass is causing. I think that the bypass should definately be built.
ReplyDelete1) yes i had
ReplyDelete2) yes i do
3) It has changed my mind because i was mainly worried about the enviroment but this has changed my mind as it will make a huge difference to the econimy of torbay
My dad drive to work in Somerset everyday and it takes him about an hour and 20 minutes to get there now but it used to take 20 minutes more because the bypass used to hold him up! we ended up moving closer to his work now to avoid it but now i have to get to school through this kingskerswell road so i definatley agree with the bypass!x
ReplyDeleteHeyy Chloe, I had heard of this issue but not that much in depth, i feel more informed and i think the bypass should be built as i travel along it everday and something should be done! ;D x
ReplyDeleteYes,slightly as it would cause less pollution in the area but what about the other area the bypass is planning to be built on?Won't that get polluted as well?
ReplyDeletei think that we should build the bypass because getting to school and work its hard from people that live the other side of kingskerswell, and there is always way too much traffic and something should be done about it! :)
ReplyDeleteA Bypass is desperately needed, but the current design is deeply flawed. The 'consultations' done last year had their questionnaire worded in such a way as to bias the responses to the required answer. The current design does not achieve the separation of local and through traffic.
ReplyDeleteI travel to Dover and back on a regular basis from Paignton and find that the only place any real congestion is found is when you get to Penn Inn roundabout and come to a standstill. The estimated time of arrival on my satnav is shot to bits because of the delays incurred between Newton Abbot and Torbay. Enough said! This is only one of many reasons why the bypass should be built.
ReplyDelete1. Yes
ReplyDelete2. Yes, i always thought it was bad but now i know there are some very good points about it too.
3. Sort of, i still stand by the bypass being bad but i think it can benificial for buisnesses aswell.
Emma :)
Hey Chloéeé
ReplyDelete1) yes i have heard ALOT about it
2)Yes i really do
3)No, i don't want it to be built. I'm sorry although i think your blog is very persuasive i really do not want to ruin such beauty of the forest and graveyard which it would destroy :)
x
Heyy chloe :)
ReplyDelete1) yes I have , we had to a project about it once!
2)Yes, I only knew the bad things about building it!
3) A little bit as the bypass will attract new buisnesses for torbay, so we will be able to improve the town with the money used. :)
