Bakers Park Needs You!!!
Thank you for viewing my blog, as it is about a very important issue in Newton Abbot. I am working with the friends Of Bakers Park, a pressure group campaigning for more usage of Bakers Park for my Citizenship GCSE. Recently have you been to the park? It seems to be that not many people can be bothered to come even though it is only a 15 minute walk away. Here is why that is wrong:
• A lot of efforts are being made to stop litter and vandalism in the park, such as litter picks, internet campaigns and making vandals and litterers feel more involved in the park.
• It is a good place to meet friends from all over Newton Abbot and have fun with them as well. Bakers Park is the perfect place to have a picnic/BBQ - just don’t leave your litter!!!
• There is a new older children’s playground and a new younger children’s playground, with lots of exciting equipment which children can enjoy. If you are a child, have children or have younger siblings then the playground could be very good for you, providing fun and exercise.
• You get exercise by travelling to Bakers Park and while you’re there.
• It is an old park with a lot of Newton Abbot’s history.
• It is a great way to get in touch with nature. The community garden is also helping make Newton Abbot self sufficient and making sure important skills in gardening are not forgotten.
• You can have a lot of fun without travelling far, you can save money and the environment on petrol - why drive to a park when you can just walk down the road.
Now you have read about reasons to go to Bakers Park please answer the following questions by commenting below:
1. Are you now more informed about Bakers Park?
2. Are you now more likely to visit Bakers Park?
3. Are you now less likely to litter and vandalize Bakers Park?
4. Are you now more aware about issues connected to Bakers Park?
5. Would you now be prepared to help Bakers Park?
Please tell anyone living the Newton abbot area about my blog and it will be much appreciated.
