Hello we’re Ella and Amy! Thank you for taking an interest in our blog! We are strong supports of the fantastic charity Children in Need, and we feel very strongly about disadvantaged children. Poverty, disability, illness, abuse- children should never have to face horrors like these, but sad truth is that they do. Children in Need sends money to children who suffer from all sorts of terrible problems such as poverty, disability, illness, abuse. The great charity holds an annual telethon every November and has a friendly mascot Pudsey the bear to help raise money for children who need it most. Sadly despite all their efforts there are still many needy children who need your support!
Children in need are a children’s charity that fundraises and distributes the money to different children’s charities all over the UK so no one is left out. Donating to children in need means your money goes towards all sorts of different children’s charities across the UK and helps people like Harrison in the picture below. Please read his heart breaking story that was put right by children in need!
Harrison aged only 8, needed an emergency operation to remove part of his skull because he had water on his brain. Receiving medical care to help manage these life threatening emergencies is usually terrifying for young children and their families.
At first, he couldn't walk without constantly bumping into things. Luckily a year later, thanks to children in need and the British Institute for Brain Injured Children (BIBIC) in Somerset, Harrison is doing brilliantly.
There are 23,500 children in the UK who live with a health condition for which there is no cure. Getting medical care for help and care for children in positions like Harrison is very difficult and expensive. So that’s where children in need step in. At BIBIC, a physiotherapist funded by BBC Children in Need helps Harrison with his co-ordination skills. Harrison has learned to do things most children take for granted, such as balance and coordination!
As you can see from Harrisons story Children in Need can really help change a child’s life! But, hard though it is to hear not Children in Need does not have enough money to help every child in this way. We would really appreciate it if you could help a child and donate today. Or perhaps even get involved with fundraising. Pudsey bear the yellow, spotty, friendly mascot wants you to really help this year and he says we should all show our spots and raise lots for children in need! Pudsey tries to get communities, schools, work places and clubs involved in raising money, and so can you just visit the children in need website: http://www.bbc.co.uk/childreninneed . Go ahead and have some creative spotty fun today to shake those needs away!
Thank you so much for looking at our blog. We would be hugely grateful if you could leave comments in the box, please can you tell us where you come from such as your hometown and country if possible. Thanks again and our kindest wishes, Ella and Amy
