Animal abandonment, help us help them.

Hello, my name is Nancy. First of all thank you very much for reading and viewing my blog about the organisation Animals in Distress. Animals in Distress are a local charity helping animals who have been abandoned, injured, lost or when their original owners cannot look after them. Most of the heroes that work at Animals in Distress are volunteers and the money that is used to purchase needs for the animals are donations.

The Animals in Distress centre, located in Ipplepen, is the home for many animals that vary from quivering puppies like the three pictured, to fluffy ducklings plucked from deserted ponds. Every year, Animals in Distress rescue over 1,000 pets and about 75% of them are adopted.

Sooty, Midnight and Poppy (pictured) were found shivering in a hedge next door to their owner’s house. They were found by a pedestrian who saved their lives. Midnight (middle) had a severe cut in her paw which could have been infected and could lead to life-threatening diseases. The unknown pedestrian took them to his house as he lived far from the Animals in Distress centre. The next day he dropped them into the centre. He had tried his best to care for all three and cure their wounds but they were still shaking. They have been at Animals in Distress for a couple of months and all three have come on in leaps and bounds. They cannot be adopted yet as they are still young but they are favourites of many visitors!

Once again I would like to thank you for reading this! There are so many abandoned Animals like Sooty, Midnight and Poppy who are waiting for someone to love them. I hope you will help me help them.  If you do not live in the UK, please post your response with the name of your town/country.
Please help by leaving a comment with an answer to these questions:
  • Did you already know about Animals in Distress before reading my blog?
  • Would you now consider donating to Animals in Distress or even adopt an animal from the centre?
  • Have I now changed your views on abandoning animals?
 And lastly…
  • Would you now consider volunteering at the centre?
You can visit the Animals in Distress website for more information:(http://www.animalsindistress.uk.com/)

Thank you very much for reading my blog. I hope I encouraged you to help Animals in Distress in many ways. They are always looking for new faces and so are the animals!
