Help the Devon Air Ambulance Trust- to save more lives everyday

My name is Rosie and I would like to thank you for taking an interest in my blog. I am an advocate for the Devon air ambulance trust (D.A.A.T). My aim is to raise awareness for the Devon air ambulance trust, I chose this topic because it helps saves people’s lives and as their motto rightly says, ‘real people saving real lives’. Since the D.A.A.T started up in 1992 they have saved over 17700 lives in the space of20 years. It has got 2 main helicopters and are trying to raise more money so that they can double the amount of lives they save. The Devon air ambulances are red so that they are brightly spotted by the patient. The D.A.A.T can get to anywhere including beaches, islands, cliffs, country lanes; to the advantage of the ambulances being helicopters the hospitals can make sure that all the patients receive the medical treatment as soon as possible. This is as important to me as my Dad is a doctor the Devon air ambulances benefits him because he can save the person’s life in a matter of minutes. The D.A.A.T is run purely on what people supporting it give the helicopters have been afforded from the money the staff at the D.A.A.T have raised and thanks to them they have saved so many lives and hopefully in the near come future they will have saved so many more. After reading my blog I hope that you will have more of an idea of who and what the Devon air ambulance Trust does for so many people and I hope that you will donate and help my cause keep on going and to keep saving all of the lives they already saved.

The D.A.A.T was started by Ann Thomas in 1986, her son was involved in a fatal push bike accident, a road ambulance took her son Ceri to hospital and later that day he died. Ann asked the doctor could there have been anything there could have been done to have prevented his death. The doctor told her that the quicker the patient receives medical care the better chance of them surviving so later that year Ann started her campaign to start the Devon Air Ambulance.

This is a story of Harry blunt a two year old that got kicked in the face by a horse in July 2010. The Devon Air Ambulance airlifted him to hospital. Later on the paramedic came looking for harry to see if he was ok. His parents got in touch to say a massive thank you for the Devon air ambulance that air lifted him to safety. The D.A.A.T gave him Ambury the bear which is the Devon air ambulances mascot and that helps the children through the pain of their injuries. Harry and his family recently visited the air base and Harry was reunited with the paramedic who saved little Harry Blunt’s life, as you can see below.

There are a lot more people’s story’s if you follow this web address it will put you on to the page with all of the people they have helped.

Thank you so much again for reading my blog. It would be a great help if you could post me a response to your thoughts. It would be great to also write a few words for the answers to my questions- and please help and donate to the Devon air ambulance. If you do respond please put your home town & country (if you don’t live in the UK)
  • Had you heard about the Devon air ambulance trust before reading my blog?
  • Do you now feel more informed about the Devon air ambulance trust?
  • Would you be prepared to do any of the following to help the Devon air ambulance trust to afford to buy more helicopters:
  1. Make a donation to the Devon air ambulance trust
  2. Donate your OLD mobile phones to the Devon air ambulance trust?
  3. Donate to the D.A.A.T lottery and try and win cash prizes
  4. Gift aid your donation to the Devon air ambulance trust
Thank you very much
Rosie

    2. I do as I know lots more about them now than I did.
    3. I would consider donating. If I do have any old mobile phones, I will donate them. The lottery seems a great idea but I am not old enough to win or enter but I will encourage my family. If I do buy or donate, I will gift aid it.
