We should make a wish become reality
Thank you for taking the time to read and take interest in our blog. We are currently raising awareness of the children’s charity: “Make a Wish Foundation”. We want to make people more aware of the subject and to gain their support. This charity works across the world: from China to the UK and, for the children of the UK, we should help.
The ‘Make A Wish Foundation’ are a widely respected charity that grant a wish of the child’s choice and give them a memory that will last forever- however long that forever may be. The charity gives life-threateningly ill children something to look forward to away from endless hospital treatment and give them a positive distraction that will cling to their dreams. Wishes are granted to children and young people and there is no limit to costs and extravagancy- that’s why they need our help. Children’s dreams give them something to live for and the charity feels that those dreams should become a reality.
An example of their work is Joanna, a girl from Germany. An unfortunate event occurred when she was diagnosed with a brain tumour. She overcame weeks of physical therapy that drained her emotionally. She was, in the end, left nearly paralysed and the only thing that kept her going was the thought of joining her friends once again. She wished for a princess birthday party- celebrating in style! Joanna’s wish was only made possible by the generous donations from the public. More people and more donations means more wishes can be grated and more smiles can be created.
After a harsh beginning to life, Joanna recovered to her normal self but with regular check-ups. This shows how the charity can turn a frown upside down and wipe the slate clean for such a young life. To find out more information on other wishes granted in the UK visit www.make-a-wish.org.uk.
The number of wishes granted goes up every day and, at the moment in the world, a wish is granted every 40 minutes. Every 40 minutes, a life is changed- but, this does mean that, every 40 minutes another ill child needs help. Whether it’s in the UK, America, Asia or Australia, children need our help, and the charity needs funding.
Thank you for reading our blog. We would be grateful if you could leave a comment answering a few quick questions. If you do this, please leave your name and what country you live in:
1) Did you know anything of the charity before?
2) If so, do you feel more informed?
3) Have any of your opinions or views changed after reading this blog?
4) Would you now support us in making more wishes come true?
Thank you for taking time to read our blog and we hope we have informed you more on the ‘Make a Wish Foundation’. Let’s help the children of the UK, by donating money and granting wishes. Thank you from Hayley and Georgina.

ReplyDeleteI had heard of the charity before but did not realise it worked across the world. I will now check out the web site and possibly support especially if funding given to local children. I did not realise how often a wish is granted. No doubt, there are even more children who could benefit but are unaware of the Charity.
