Save The Gorillas – They Can’t Save Themselves!

Thank you for taking the time to visit our blog! We feel very strongly about how the gorillas and their habitat are being treated, something has to be done and it has to be done quickly. To some people this may sound like yet another plea to stop cutting down the rain forests, but there is a lot more to it and I hope that this blog will make you more informed of the situation in hand and hopefully convince you to support our advocacy, which is The Gorilla Organisation.

The Gorilla Organisation is an international charity led by African conservationists dedicated to saving the world’s last remaining gorillas from extinction. There award-winning community-based approach to conservation promotes sustainable livelihoods, nurtures young conservationists of the future and empowers local people to tackle the threats to the gorillas’ survival. It is a great organisation that is very dedicated to its cause and does as much as possible to stop the extinction of the gorillas.

Without the forests the gorillas will not survive. Understanding the threats and protecting the forest is the first step to saving the gorillas. The local people often do not know the consequences’ of the deforestation they are causing. They often chop down the trees as they are in need of more farmland, they have to get through the forests to get water and food or they need the fire wood for their homes. Although habitat is not the only issue poaching is a huge issue as well but it is no longer as big an issue as deforestation. The gorilla organisation addresses these problems and does as much as they can to solve them. One area they are working in is Mount Tshiaberimu and they have many aims that they want to achieve to help save the gorillas living there. The overall objective of the project is to conserve the unique, isolated population of gorillas and their habitat at Mount Tshiaberimu.

IMPORTANT FACTS:
There are less than 720 Mountain Gorillas left in the wild.

They need serious help and as mentioned earlier they need the help now. You wouldn’t destroy humans’ homes would you? Why destroy the Gorillas?

Now that you have read our blog would you please take a few minutes to answer the questions below or leave a comment about it and if you could please include what town and country you’re from (if not UK) as it would help us an awful lot, thank you!

If you would like to find out more or support this amazing organisation then visit their website
