The real truth about businesses in the fast food industry.... Chicken Cruelty must STOP!

Thank you very much for taking the time and interest to read this blog! I hope you will feel more informed about chicken cruelty in the fast food industry. You may taking a bite out of a chicken nugget, not thinking what type of process it might take to make an innocent chicken turn into what you’re eating. If you knew, would you still eat it? We really need to consider the harsh process used by some organisations and make a change; we must do more to make animal cruelty less severe. For example, write well known fast food outlets. Here are deadly steps of the process that some fast food industries use in their manufacturing or processing:

1) Slice the chicken’s beaks off with a hot blade. To make them not ‘peck’ each other. The pain is like getting your fingers chopped off, they can’t eat, so some may starve and die.
2) Stuff baby chicks into waste-filled shed with tens of thousands of other birds. This is cruel, as they can’t run freely and tightly packed together. . This is basically hundreds more people in this room…would you find it hard to breath?
3) Grab the survivors by their legs and throw them into a truck with thousands of other chickens. Then, drive them to slaughter.
4) Chickens are dumped out of their transport crate then hung upside down in metal shackles which can result in broken bones, extreme bruising. THEY ARE STILL CONSCIOUS!
5) Workers have the opportunity to abuse the birds and then they have their throats cut.
6) Many birds are immersed in tanks of scalding hot water while they are still alive and able to feel the pain. Basically, they are scalded alive

You’re thinking why should I care? You should care about any animals being tortured just for you to eat. Just take a think now and then; do they really need to get put in that much pain even though there is a less painful way of turning into your food? Or just leave them be and let them run free and enjoy their lives peacefully? Making a change will become your benefit as well as the well fare or the chickens. For example, if this situation has changed, you will be eating good quality meat; not dreadfully tortured chickens.

This disgusting torture method may end up with just a chicken burger. Do you think it’s really worth it? To find out more about this situation, go on this link: http://www.mccruelty.com/ or http://www.kentuckyfriedcruelty.com/ Peta is a charity that wants to prevent chicken cruelty in fast food businesses. They do several runs, activities and charity events. Why don’t you take part in one? Make a change!
Many thanks you for taking your time reading my blog. Please post a response with your thoughts about this issue! May this include your hometown or country (if not in UK)
-Have you already heard about this situation and do you feel more informed?
- Will you support Peta in any way and what are you now prepared to do? I.e. Donate, write to companies like McDonalds or KFC to find out how they prepare their food, take part in charity runs, tell your family & friends and there is a lot more things you can do there is much more on offer on the hyperlink.
-Has this changed your opinions, attitude, behaviour or policy? such as will you consider helping these charities? Please make additional comments if you can!
Another thank you,
Helena

  10. I've learnt a lot from this and will definitely reconsider eating McDonalds or KFC. Do you know if the chickens here in the UK are treated in the same way as in the videos from the US?
