Old people deserve our help!
Hello my name is Annie thank you for reading my blog, I think that The Alzheimer’s Society is a really important charity and so I’m here to try to persuade you to help support the Alzheimer’s Society, and raise money for them so that they can find a cure.
Alzheimer’s is a brain disease that destroys memory and thinking skills. The Alzheimer’s Society is a pressure group that helps to develop the lives of people affected by dementia in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. They insure that people who have dementia receive good quality care and they help to provide information to people about day care and living with dementia using training books, and being trained by health specialists. They campaign for the rights of people with dementia and for the people that care for them. Every day The Alzheimer’s Society is trying to create a cure to treat people that are suffering from dementia.
At the moment 79,236 people in the South West of England alone have Alzheimer’s, however, only about 35% know they have it and the other 65% have no idea. At the age of sixty five 1 in every 10 people have got Alzheimer’s and by eighty five nearly half of all people do.
You could help by:
- Raising money
- Become a volunteer
Why should you be interested?
- One day it could be you
- One day you may need to help someone with Alzheimer’s
- One day someone you love could be diagnose with Alzheimer’s
To find out extra information about the Alzheimer’s Society log on to www.alzheimers.org.uk.
Please answer the questions below with a comment, and if you do please tell me where you come from i.e. your home town and country.
o Were you interested about supporting The Alzheimer’s Society before you read my blog?
o Would you now consider supporting The Alzheimer’s Society?
o Do you now know more about The Alzheimer’s Society than you did before you read my blog?
Thank you so much for your time!
Annie.
