Meet Mike. Mike was a keen body boarder and spent a large amount of time chasing waves in Cornwall. But one day the waves chased him, chased him far out to sea. Walkers on the coast spotted him and called 999. The RNLI came immediately and quickly brought him on board and escorted him to hospital. Mike was cold and had a broken ankle but thanks to the crew that was the only thing that happened. Mike recovered and within three days was out of hospital.
Mike’s life was saved due to donations to the RNLI. It takes as little as £100 to save a life. The RNLI have already saved 140,000 lives and they would like to help even more however, lifesaving costs money and this money has to come from you.
Thank you so much for reading my Blog. Please do now post me a response with your views. It would also be a great help if you could write just a few thoughts on the following questions and help in any way possible. Fundraising ideas and more information can be found at http://rnli.org/Pages/Default.aspx Please help because a life is not something that deserves to be lost.
Please now take a moment to answer these questions.
- Have you ever heard about the effect of loss of life at sea before?
- Do you now feel more informed on the situation?
- Would you now be willing to do any of the following things...
- Make a donation to the RNLI?
- Make an effort to learn and explore the charity more?
- Join their young people’s online group “Shore Thing”
- Support the RNLI whenever you shop at Wilkinson’s?
- Tell your family and friends about the RNLI and try to persuade them to help out in any of the ways above?
Many thanks
Emma
