Thank you for showing
an interest in my blog! My name is Emily, and I hope by the end of the blog you
will feel more informed about the Dame
Kelly Holmes Legacy Trust and the work that they do. Many people are unaware of the great work that
they do at the charity so I hope to change this. Sport is one of my hobbies, so
the Dame Kelly Holmes Legacy Trust is perfect as a charity for me to advocate
for as they aim to change young lives through sport.
The charity was first set up by Dame Kelly Holmes
herself because she wanted to create a legacy from her athletics career that
would benefit many young people today. The charity has help from a range of
world class GB athletes, so together they can give young people the opportunity
that everyone on the DKH Legacy trust programme
has. The chances to work with….be inspired by….and learn from these world class
athletes. It gives the athletes a chance to pass on their knowledge and help
someone else. So they can make the most of their talents.
The trust helps a range of people. Whether you need
to have a better start in life, or you’re the budding future talent for GB. The
Dame Kelly Holmes Legacy Trust runs a variety of different programmes for many different
people that are in a variety of different situations. They aim to get young
lives on track!
People like Beth, age 13, who was helped by the
trust in the Aspiring minds project said, “At the moment I'm facing really hard
problems at home and in school, Aspiring Minds helped me understand how I could
change things for the better." The Aspiring
minds programme focuses on the attitudes and skills
required for personal success in the modern world, and proves to be a success, as
well as many other of the DKH Legacy Trusts projects.
Sport is very beneficial in many different types of
ways, and it helps many people build confidence and self esteem. It doesn't take much to donate and help to change someone’s life today. The Dame Kelly
Holmes Legacy Trust needs your help! Help get young lives on track today. You
can find out more about the fantastic work the charity does by clicking on the
