To learn is to live. Children in Africa deserve a better life – help EdUKaid achieve this goal

Hi, we are Charlotte and Josie and thank you for taking time to visit and read our blog. Our chosen charity- EdUKaid – helps children, in Africa get a better start in life by allowing them to an education. They try to raise as much money as possible so many children as can get an education for life. EdUKaid is an English run charity based in Salisbury and operates on the east coast of Africa helping many communities in Tanzania. Our main aim is to raise your awareness of schooling issues throughout Africa and how you can do something, it doesn’t have to be much, to help…

Why should you care?
There aren’t many reasons not to care about this huge issue affecting millions of innocent children our age around Africa. We mainly feel that you should be aware of the hardships some children in Africa are going through. Many families live on only 80p a day, which is not even enough for a pint of milk, no wonder they can’t pay school bills…

We need to act now!!!
The quicker these children get an education the better because if future children cannot get an education they would not get a good job and then the economy of Africa would go down the drain. Just £8 would give a child a starter pack for school including pens pencils rubbers rulers etc…

Is it their fault? No.
There is no way that this issue is the fault of the children or the children’s parents. The parents were most likely in the same position when they were a child and this is how they have ended up and, most probably, what their children would end up like.

So what can we do?
Money: money and fundraising can help a lot as it’s the only thing that will help to build more free schools for children who cannot afford to pay for schooling fees. Sponsoring a child will help as well, they only ask for £15 a month for a child to go to school for free. If you go to their website – www.edukaid.com – there are many links that you can go to, to see what EdUKaid is and what they are doing now, giving them a little recognition would help!

Just imagine if you don’t go to school every day. Imagine instead of going to school every day to just go and work in the fields with your father or do some house work with your mother. In the UK going to school is pretty compulsory, and you don’t really think much of it and don’t respect it as much as you should. Young children in Africa would go to extreme lengths to be in your situation and go to a government paid school.
Thank you again for taking the time to endure our blog about a cause we really feel strongly about. If you would, could you please answer the questions below because it will help us attain a good and promising grade.

  1. Had you heard of the charity EdUKaid before?
  2. Do you now, after reading our blog, feel more informed of this issue?
  3. Would you be prepared to donate/support to the charity in any way e.g. volunteering?
If you do post a response, please could you tell us where you are from i.e. country and hometown.
Josie and Charlotte
