Changing lives for the better – HELP ‘Children in Need’

Firstly I’d like to thank you so much for taking the time to visit my blog especially since I feel very strongly about this cause! My name is Amy, and I am an advocate for ‘Children In Need’, I’m trying to raise awareness of this wonderful voluntary organisation and the people that work their best to make children’s lives better.

‘Children in Need’ don’t just sit around getting people to raise money- oh no they don’t- Children in Need they provide donations to projects all over the UK. They travel up and down the country supporting small and large organisations which empower children and extend their life choices. ‘Children In Need’ don’t just stop at the once a year TV show their calendar is full of money raising activities and can be found on their website. There are many ways to get in touch and join in with their missionaries. Just visit www.bbcchildreninneed.co.uk

Every penny from the money you raise or donate will go towards helping disadvantaged children and young people right here in the UK. Children just like Connor.

When Connor was two he fell into a swimming pool and nearly drowned..... He stopped breathing and spent weeks in a hospital. Doctors thought he’d never recover. He was blind for a while and had to learn to walk all over again. But very slowly he got better.

Now 10, Connor plays football, runs around and goes to school. But you can’t tell by looking at him that his brain was damaged in that accident, so sometimes he gets teased.
He still struggles to balance so he might fall over or find it difficult to remember things and understand what his friends and teachers mean. He is also still frightened of water, although he has been brave enough to start swimming lessons.

But thanks to all of those people who help and support children in need by fundraising, Connor has learned new skills and made new friends at Headway Devon, a charity that supports children who have suffered from brain  injuries. If you chose or continue to support then more children like Connor will get the most out of life.

Donating and fundraising is so simple anyone can get involved. By yourself, as a community or even at school, fundraising is an easy and fun way to give money to children in need it could be silly, crazy or serious every penny counts to help save another child’s life. OR you can just visit the children in need website and donate now!

Fundraising ideas include:

  • Disco,
  • Cake sale,
  • Sponsored walks, runs or swims,
  • Car boot sale,

Let you imagination go wild in aid of Children in need.

Thank you so much for taking your precious time to read my blog. I hope you feel as strongly as I do and are willing to help the less fortunate.  EVERY PENNY COUNTS so change a child’s life for the better.

Please take the time to answer these questions in your response:

  • Would you now think of supporting ‘Children In Need’?
  • Do you know feel more informed about what ‘Children In Need’ does?
  • Would you tell your family and friends about ‘Children In Need’ and try and persuade them to help in any ways they can?
  • Would you donate or raise money towards this cause?

If you do post a response, please can you tell me where you are from this includes, your town and country (if not UK!).

Amy
