Great Britain - Great wildlife disaster?

Hello my name is Sophia. First of all, I would like to thank you for taking the time to read my Blog. I’m trying to raise awareness of the remarkable work of “The Wildlife Trust” but can only do it with your help! And with it we can stop the harm to Britain’s animals and wildlife. Not many people know about this charity, so hopefully after you read this you will be well informed about the problems behind Britain!

I would like to explain what the Wildlife trust does. They help wipe out the devastation of Britain’s wildlife. And as it says on their page “Wildlife Trusts were formed across the length and breadth of the UK by the 1960s, in response to the widespread devastation of our natural habitats.“ In other words it is trying to stop the destruction of Britain’s natural habitats.

The wildlife trust hold special fundraising events to do with projects they are launching with the money raised. For example on Friday 20th April 2012 they held a talk about badger vaccinations. This event was organised by the Forest of Dean Area Group of the Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust. Non members were welcome at all their meetings. Therefore they would bring in money as the entry was £2 for refreshments as well. This helped because it boosted their popularity, also it gave them more fund for the project, to help treat the thousands of badgers that are dying for our mistakes, by giving them vaccinations. Also they held a free event at Newlands corner, where volunteers did litter picking, as streets were filled with junk such as, coke cans, crisp packets, wrappers, newspaper etc. After they had finished the streets were so much cleaner! Also last year, a badger cull was to be carried out, but the wildlife trust managed to raise enough support to delay it.

Any donations can pay to help new projects such as the ones mentioned above. Even a donation of £2 can help towards getting a badger vaccinated! The wildlife trust, as I said before is quite unknown! To find out more visit their website at http://www.devonwildlifetrust.org

Once again I would like to thank you for taking the time to read my blog! Please leave some comments about this blog. It would be great if you could list a few words to answer the following questions:
