Taking care further – Rowcroft Hospice needs your help

Hello, my name is Alex. Thank you for taking an interest in my blog. As many of you already know, Rowcroft takes care of people with life limiting illnesses. However I would like to remind you, or inform you, of the amazing work that Rowcroft does to improve peoples lives. I chose Rowcroft as my charity because it is one that I feel very strongly about.

Rowcroft is based in Torquay but it cares for people all over the community. They not only treat seriously ill people; they also care for their emotional, spiritual and physical needs. They offer care and support for the families and friends as they know that it will be a hard time for them too.

Rowcroft say:

“We’re not just about beds and cancer and last days; we’re about living life, family, friends, community, reconciliations, coping and not coping. We support and enable people to carry on when, perhaps, at the time carrying on seems unthinkable.”

Rowcroft is widely supported by lots of people across South Devon including the radio station Palm. They did the Arctic Challenge in 2013 where they raised money for Rowcroft and other great charities such as the RNLI and The Alzheimer’s Society. Rowcroft also hold a sleep walk, a channel challenge, skydiving and lots more.

But why should you care?

You should care because if anything was to happen to anyone that you know and love the Rowcroft will be there to care for anyone who needs it. Whether it is actually in the hospital or if one of the nurses come to you. They can provide nursing care, medical treatment, therapies, advice and support for you in your home. It doesn’t matter if that is in a private residence, a residential home or a care home. Their nurses will look after you no matter what.

How can you help?

You could help by making a donation, doing the Rowcroft lottery, doing one of their events or challenges, buying something from one of the many Rowcroft shops in and around South Devon or holding your own fundraising event to raise money.

Thank you so much for reading my blog and taking an interest in my chosen charity – Rowcroft Hospice

Please spare a moment to answer these few questions:
  • Had you heard of Rowcroft before?
  • Has your opinion changed? In what way?
  • Do you now feel more informed on Rowcroft?
  • Would you now be willing to donate or hold a fundraiser?
  • Would you now be willing to join one of their fundraising events?

Please include your hometown & country in your answers.

Thanks again for taking the time to read my blog,

Alex
