Worth your while make a smile- help Smile Train bring happy faces to children- cleft palate

Hello, our names are Ami and kitty. Firstly we would like to thank you for taking time to read our blog on cleft palates. Cleft palates are a big issue in less developed countries and the government unfortunately often cannot pay for treatment.

More than 1 million children are suffering with unrepaired clefts, yet the treatment only takes 45minutes and costs as little as £150/$250. Many people don’t understand that it is a deformity; therefore children are isolated and have their childhood taken away from them. Being born with a lip is a curse in some countries such as Uganda every baby born with a cleft is given the name ‘ajok’ which literally means cursed by god. Leading to some innocent children being abandoned or killed right after birth. In the UK our health care is free, this means that children with any issue get free treatment, this stops them being bullied, not being able to talk confidently, and even not insecure about themselves. in our country they have the surgery done for free and they get speech therapy, however in many countries  this is not financially possible.

The good news is that every child has the opportunity to be recovered, and smile train have the power to complete this with your help. All they need is a small donation and if we all work together we can succeed “ how often do you get the opportunity to save a life for just £150” our aims are to allow every child to have an equal opportunity without being discriminated for something they can’t help.

One person that we would like to talk about is Wang Li. She was smile trains first patient and was born with a severe cleft palate. She faced a hard time throughout her child hood as she was afraid to go to school and live like every other child. After free surgery smile train got one to one help and not only looked better but gained the confidence she never had. People are unaware of the hardships people like this go through however smile train truly want the best for their patients and now Wang li has a family of her own and is living a happy healthy life

Basically what we want to say is that with everyone’s help we can beat this and help every child that wants and deserves help. Less developing countries need us, so act now, please visit the website at http://www.smiletrain.org/ and help today. Thank you again for visiting our blog and we hope you are informed about this. We would highly appreciate your help and leave a comment to help us out. Please leave your name and country and we would be grateful if you answered the following questions:
Had you heard about the problems caused for people with cleft palates?
Do you now feel you have been informed about what children with cleft palates face?
Would you be prepared to do the following things to help the innocent life of children with this...

  1. Make a donation to ’smile train’?
  2. Fundraise for this cause?
  3. Regularly visit the website and keep yourself informed?
  4. Tell your family and friends about’ Smile Train’

We will respond to everyone and if you have any questions, ask them. Thank you very much,
Ami and kitty
