Homeless people shouldn’t just be forgotten

Thank you very much for taking the time to visit my blog! Trying to help those less fortunate in many areas around the globe is something i feel very strongly about! Very few people know how many homeless people on the streets there are suffering horrible experiences day by day - like John shown below. When you've read my blog i hope that you will know more than you did before about the problems faced by people like John and you would want to try and help.

This is Johns story. John ended up homeless, it wasn't suddenly overnight but instead took 6 months for him to end up sleeping rough. He relied heavily on the usage of alcohol and drugs, and not being employed meant no money and no food. Everyday for 4 years, John had to suffer the horrible conditions of living homeless. John would be ignored and sniggered at mainly down to his appearance on a day to day basis. With John being scruffy and unclean made John even less motivated to try and sort his life out.

With John having nowhere to wash, he remained smelly and dirty until the charity ‘St Petrocks’ managed to support him. They persuaded him to attend alcoholics anonymous- a place where other people were in the same situation. St Petrocks have provided accommodation and food for John, as well as as supporting him through the hardest days. After 2 months John was able to lead a more fulfilled and settled life.

Thank you so much again for reading my blog. Please do now post me a response with you thoughts and opinions. I would really appreciate it if you wouldn't mind writing just a few words in response to the following questions. To find out more about the charity St Petrocks and further details of all the ideas listed below can be found at http://www.stpetrocks.org.uk. Help give those less fortunate a life that they've dreamed of.
  • Had you heard about the problems faced for people sleeping rough?
  • Do you now feel more informed about the issues homeless people have to cope with?
  • Would you now be prepared to do any of the following things to help improve the lives of people who are sleeping with no roof over their head.
  1. Make a donation to ‘St Petrocks’?
  2. Start or join a fundraising campaign?
  3. Follow St Petrocks on Facebook or twitter?
  4. Tell your family and friends about ‘St Petrocks’ and try to persuade to them to help in any of the ways above?
If you are going to post a response, i would be grateful if you could tell me where you come from, i.e your home town and country (if not UK)

Thank you so much for taking an interest in my blog :)
