Every needy, neglected or abandoned animal deserves to be treated, rescued, adopted and loved forever

Hi my name is Ella and firstly I would like to say a big thank you for taking an interest in my blog! My chosen theme is regarding poorly, neglected or abandoned animals and those that are in need of desperate veterinary care, for which their owners cannot fund or afford their treatment. Some neglected animals need to be rehomed. I feel very strongly and passionate about animals and how every animals deserves to be cared for in a positive and caring way.

In this blog you will discover more about my chosen charity, the Blue Cross.  The main aims of this charity is to ensure that animals receive medical treatment they otherwise wouldn’t receive and also those without a safe and caring home are taken into the Blue Cross rehoming centres to be temporarily given the love and support they deserve.  These rehoming centres then continue in their efforts to find new homes for these animals, to provide them with a happy and caring environment.

The Blue Cross have been dedicated to the health and happiness of pets since 1897. Abandoned or unwanted, ill or injured – they do what is needed to give every pet a healthy life in a happy home.

Here are Victoria and Alerts’ stories. Weighing just a few ounces, rejected by their mum and left fighting on the road side for their tiny little lives, Victoria and Albert had one of the worst starts to life possible. When arriving at the Blue Cross, they both had bad infections and broken limbs but when animal lover Jill McGuire found them and took them to the Blue Cross to be sorted out, Albert and Victoria started to live their lives properly.

Their new lives were only made possible by the charity work of the Blue Cross.  Veterinary care is expensive and specialist and the ongoing care takes time and resources, without the funding and care provided by the Blue Cross the outcome for Albert and Victoria could have been so very different and not the happy ending that thankfully they were given.  In order for this charity to continue its fantastic work, funds are continually needed and without the help and support given by people like you it would not be possible for them to carry on.  Please give whatever you can; your help is their future.  Take a look for yourself http://www.bluecross.org.uk

Thank you once again for reading my blog.  I hope it has given you a snapshot of some of the great work undertaken by the Blue Cross.  More information about their fantastic efforts can be found at http://www.bluecross.org.uk Please help give animals the care and love they deserve.

Now, I would like to ask you to kindly post me a response with your thoughts.  In particular, it would be most useful to me, as a way of getting a better picture of peoples’ understanding of the work of the Blue Cross, if you could write just a few words in answer to the following questions:

  • Had you previously heard about the neglect and misfortune of animals and their owners that are simply unable to afford vital veterinary care?
  • Do you feel more informed about the issues faced by animals needing urgent medical care or animals that have been abandoned or ill cared for?
  • Would you now be prepared to do any of the following things to help improve the lives of animals that need medical help, care or a new home…..
  1. Make a donation to the Blue Cross?
  2. Start or join a Fund Raising campaign?
  3. Sign up to receive regular information about the work of the Blue Cross including following them on Facebook as this updates you on individual case studies and the success stories?
  4. Attend an event: Their centres hold fundraising events, such as open days, shows and sponsored dog walks, throughout the year?
  5. Tell your family and friends about the Blue Cross and try and persuade them to get involved, helping out in any of the ways above?
If you do post a response, please can you tell me where you come from i.e. your home town and country (if not UK!)

Thank you so much for taking the time and interest in my blog and the charity I feel so passionate about!

Ella
