Key to the success of this project is to modify attitudes toward the hunting of elephants for their tusks. Firstly we need to be aware of this cause and then we need to take responsibility. Everybody can take part in by fundraising at a local level and spreading the word!
Not many people seem to know about the suffering, so we need to provide people with alternative materials to use instead of tusks; we need to attach the feelings of repulsiveness similar to that of wearing a fur coat, to discourage the amount that we use for jewellery. Do we really need to wear this? Do we really need to make things out of ivory? We need to be mindful and consider the bloodshed involved in this process. Here is a real life example below of the little things we can do to make a huge difference to one elephant’s life.
This is a courageous conservationist who devoted his life to working with elephants, he was known as ‘the elephant whisperer’. He saved many lives of the young that were not able to survive out in the wild. He took care of them and they treated him like one of their family, if you help raise money we can get more people like Lawrence Anthony to support us in this mission!
When you have read my blog, I hope that you will become more informed about TUSK and what they do to help those elephants that are suffering poaching in Africa as well as other places-and feel like you want to help
