Help Dog Fight Inc. Stop It

Firstly thank you for choosing to read my blog. My name is Rebecca and this blog is about Dog Fighting and how you can help those dogs involved whether it is donating or rehoming.

I am writing this blog about dog fighting and my chosen charity, which is Dog Fight Inc. I have chosen to focus on dog fighting specifically because it is still a big problem in some parts of America and Europe. I am hoping that by reading this short story that I will change your views on this issue and persuade you to support my charity and to donate money so that we can help these dogs in need.

This is Oreo. He was found in a small garden shed with no food or water. The shed didn’t look like it had been cleaned out for weeks and injuries that suggested that he had previously been involved in fighting. He was dehydrated and severely malnourished with fleas and various infections, some were life threatening. He had been in the shed for a number of weeks and his health gradually deteriorated. He was only found due to the reports of loud barking and growling coming from the shed. The complaint that prompted the rescuers to come and investigate was from a concerned neighbour who saw Oreo being beaten outside of the shed and thought he looked very thin and unhealthy, so she phoned the local police.

Oreo was found just in time, was taken straight to the local vets and was soon on a number of medications to help him overcome his illnesses until being healthy enough to be put up for adoption. If he had been left even a few days more then Oreo may have died in that tiny garden shed but with the help of your donations and volunteers these dogs stand a better chance of surviving.

He is now happy after being adopted within a few weeks of being at the rehoming centre after he was deemed fit and healthy and suitable for adoption and the man that was abusing him was found to have three more dogs living in poor conditions within the house. He was charged £20,000 and was sentenced to 6 months in prison and was banned from owning any other animals.
