What Would You Do If Your Child Was Disabled? Abandon It? Help the Father Ray Foundation To End This Cruelty.

Thank you very much for taking your time to come on my Blog! Hi, my name is Jasmine. For my G.C.S.E

The Father Ray Foundation is a charitable organization located in the Thai resort town of Pattaya. It currently cares for more than 850 underprivileged, orphaned, abused, neglected and abandoned children and students with disabilities. The Father Ray Foundation provides a safe and loving home, to all who live there. They have lots different facilities for children who are disabled, for example they have a School for the Blind - The purpose of the school is to give an education at primary and secondary levels to those children who are blind or severely partially sighted. In the first twenty five years since the school opened more than 400 students have graduated.

Jim’s Story
Jim is from Chumphon, a province in the south of Thailand. His parents separated when he was young. Jim lived with his father and his step-mother and his two half siblings. His father passed away three years ago. He now lives with his step-mother who is a cook in a local hospital in his hometown. When Jim was about 8 years old and in Grade 2, he had a high fever. His bone joints were bloated and he was admitted to the hospital. As a treatment, he had his spine punctured and he was given several injections. The treatment was not successful, and Jim’s legs became very weak and he cannot sit without support. His body wants to lean backwards all the time. He uses a 4 wheel wheelchair to get around. When he is at school, he uses an electrical wheelchair. Jim completed the twelve years of his schooling from the non-formal educational system in March 2012. He worked as a general affairs officer at the Art for All Foundation in Bangkok for 5 months. Fortunately, Jim learned about the Fr. Ray Vocational School for People with Disabilities. He is very glad to have been accepted, after passing, on his second attempt, the entrance examination for the Information System Development Course. This will enable him to help himself by finding a suitable position in this field after graduation.

I feel this is important, as all of the children, who live under the care of The Father Ray Foundation, would not have been able to live a good life, as they are disabled. The Father Ray Foundation helps children of all age, to wear a smile, no matter who they are. Please visit http://www.fr-ray.org/ if you would like to know more about The Father Ray Foundation.

Thank you so much for reading my blog. Please could you take your time to answer some questions?

citizenship, I am supporting The Father Ray Foundation, to make sure that that all disabled children, get the support they need, so that they can live their life to the full. Orphanage in less devolved countries is an issue and it is an issue that I want to help. In Thailand, many families are too poor to look after their child with disabilities, they might not have enough money to buy the appropriate equipment, or simply, they might not have the money to buy food for their child/children.
  1. Have you ever heard of the father Ray Foundation?
  2. Do you now feel more informed about my chosen charity, and what they do?
  3. Would you now be prepared to do any of the following, to help the Father Ray Foundation…
  • Make a donation?
  • Join one of their events?
  • To personally go there and give a donation?
Also please tell me you country and your home town (if you don’t live in England!)

Once again, thank you for taking your time to read my blog and answering my questions,
Jasmine
