Don’t Turn a Blind Eye - Support RNIB

Welcome to my blog about the RNIB! My name is Lily and I would like to thank you for taking time to read through my blog. Through this blog I hope to raise awareness and gain support for this wonderful charity that helps blind and partially sighted people in the UK. I also hope to help you to consider donating to the RNIB.

The RNIB (Royal National Institute for the Blind are there to help and give support for everyone affected by sight loss. They give practical and emotional support for those affected by sight loss, helping them to face the future with confidence. They give advice on staying in work, using technology to help people with sight loss do everyday tasks, and can provide someone who can offer emotional support to help people come to terms with their sight loss. They are there from the moment someone is diagnosed to help them get on with their life. With your support, they can reach more blind and partially sighted people and give them the help and support they need.

Did you know:

  • Every day 100 people in the UK start losing their sight.
  • People with sight loss are almost three times more likely to experience depression than people with good vision
  • Only one-third of registered blind and partially sighted people of working age are in employment.
  • The number of people in the UK with sight loss is set to increase dramatically, and the RNIB won’t be able to help them all without your donations.
Thankyou for reading my blog! I would also really appreciate it if you could post a comment answering the following questions:
  1. Had you already hear of the RNIB before reading this blog?
  2. Do you know feel more informed about the RNIB?
  3. Would you now consider donating to the RNIB?
It would also be really helpful if you could tell me where you come from. i.e Town and County (+ country if not UK)

Thankyou!
Lily
