It's time to look after the environment with the Woodland Trust

Thank you for taking the time to read my blog, I am Alma and I hope you learn something new. It is about the Environment and our affect on the world around us, focusing on the charity Woodland Trust. They have been around since 1972 working to protect the environment and now have planted millions of trees and created thousands of woods. I feel very strongly about this issue and I want you to as well because the Woodland Trust are not only thinking about what’s happening now but also about the future, this issue affects absolutely everyone and everyone can make a difference and help.

Some background information, the Woodland Trust was started by Kenneth Watkins who has now received an OBE for his achievements with the Woodland Trust. It was first based in Devon and then moved to be based in Lancaster, the Woodland Trust works with woodlands all over the U.K. Kenneth Watkins started the play because he could see what was happening to woodlands as he was a farmer so he decided to make a difference himself. The Woodland Trust is now quite well known and has lots of partnerships with big companies such as the BBC so they are now making a big difference but they do need your help.

I think that you might decide to help the Woodland Trust because it is definitely an important issue and in helping the Woodland Trust you will be doing a good thing for the Environment and doing a good thing. I feel that sometimes we think all about dying animals and diseases although I don’t think that they aren’t important issues I do think that we don’t think enough about the environment around us, hence why Global Warming is taking place. It is easy for you to help or get involved firstly you can go to their website - http://www.woodlandtrust.org.uk where you can learn anything you want to know about them and what they have succeeded to do, you can also contact them on their email england@woodlandtrust.org.uk. If you want to just simply donate then it is simple just to go to their website, or you can raise money by arranging an event, or lastly you could volunteer. Volunteering is just as helpful as donating money because it is all very good them having money but they do need people to help put that money into the environment. You will also be helping wildlife because when woodland is destroyed lots and lots of animals are then left without a home. For example somewhere in Australia there was woodland that was cut down and this woodland was home to Koala’s. One of the pandas had gone away to look for food and when he came back he found his home to be gone and his family disappeared.

Overall I feel that you should support the Woodland Trust over any other charity because you will be thinking about the future of the world and your descendants, if we act now then we can stop global warming but if we leave it for much longer it will be too late. I definitely feel that this is an important issue that can’t be forgotten anymore and hope that you now feel the same and you will do your part in helping the future of our planet by supporting the Woodland Trust.
