Starlight Children’s Foundation, change children’s lives now!

My name is Livvie Pilkington and I would like you to learn something from this blog and hopefully pass it on to others and let them know about starlight, thank you.

Starlight Children’s Foundation is an organization made for children who have a terminal or very serious illness.  They provide fun, entertainment, therapy, and learning for these children. “Illnesses like cancer may break a child’s soul, we aim to save it”.  Diseases like cancer have a massive effect on all people, young or old but it traumatizes children knowing they have a chance of dying so young, it is also a time when parents need support, which is what starlight do.  Things we take for granted every day a child who has a serious or terminal disease would love to do like school for example and having friends.  Children may feel alone and abandoned if they are not given the correct therapy treatment from child doctors.

Over 500,000 children are in pain and in need of a normal life.
Over 500,000 children are immobile.
Over 500,000 children need mental and physical support.
500,000 children are terminally ill and are going to die.

There are still more children who are in pain, who are suffering, who are being courageous and fighting disease alone.

Hannah stopped breathing when she was five days old. She suffered from frequent apnea, asthma, headaches, and acid reflux. She lived her life in and out of the hospital, undergoing countless tests.  Starlight believes children like these are as important and individual as any other.

What do you think?

Born with a hole in her heart and pulmonary atresia, a form of congenital heart disease, six year old Lydia has undergone major surgical procedures and overcome some very complex medical difficulties. At just two years of age, she was also diagnosed with Alagille syndrome, which is a rare disorder that seriously affects the liver and means Lydia requires daily medication and may, in the future, need further surgery.

Despite the severity of her condition, Lydia had one key dream in life. “I want to be a princess,” she said, “and wear a tiara and lots of jewelry and princess shoes.”

Thousands of children like Lydia will die alone and unhappy, maybe we can change that.
Would please now take a moment and ask yourself this, for Lydia and Hannah would you consider

the liver and means Lydia requires daily medication and may, in the future, need further surgery.
