Dreams are a big thing for these Children- support Starlight for them to grant more wishes.

Hello, my name is Ellen and thank you for taking time to read my blog.  I have chosen a pressure group called Starlight. They are a children’s Foundation who try and entertain seriously and terminally ill children. Starlight are a widely respected charity that grant a wish of the child’s choice or provide entertaining equipment on their ward and try and give them a memory that will last forever- however long that forever may be. The group gives life-threateningly ill children something to look forward to and for them to forget their long hospital treatment and give them a positive distraction that will make them happy. I would like to increase the awareness of Starlight and help starlight receive more support to help more and more sick children every day. I would like to get more people to donate to Starlight and become more aware off the ill children and how unfortunate they are living on a hospital ward.

I am going to explain to you a wonderful story about an eight year old boy called Jacob. Starlight granted a wish for Jacob and this is one way Starlight can help, if they have our help. Jacob was diagnosed with a life shortening disease called Cystic Fibrosis. This is a disease which seriously affects the major organs of the body, and for Jacob, his lungs are badly affected. Jacob requires regular physiotherapy and daily medication but he has endless trips to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital, to where he is treated. Jacob is a huge Liverpool supporter. His dream was to meet the team and watch them play. Starlight organised for him and his father to travel to Liverpool, where they were given access to and exclusive training session. Jacob was lucky enough to meet all the football players and even have a photo with two of the players; Luis Suàrez and Maxi Rodríguez. Jacob had a brilliant day and it was all thanks to Starlight.

There are lots more stories of wishes granted, if you click on this link:

Thank you again for taking time to read my blog. It would be great if you could please answer these few questions below and leave your answers in the comment box. If you don’t want to answer the questions, please just leave a general comment about my blog. If you do comment in any way, it would be grateful, if you could please tell me where you come from (i.e. your home town and Country)

  • Had you heard about Starlight before reading my blog?
  • Do you now feel more informed about Starlight after reading my blog?
  • Would you now consider doing any of the following things to help Starlight grant more wishes to ill children……?
  1. Make a donation to ‘Starlight Children’s Foundation’ on their website?
  2. Start or join a fundraising campaign?
  3. Sign up to receive regular information about the wishes granted to the children?
Many Thanks
Ellen

I may donate. I will consider fundraising as I love raising money. Unfortuently I do not like getting regular updates or 'spam'. I delete it staright away and I don't like it.
