Seeing is believing – We need to know the facts about blindness

Thank you for taking time to look at our blog – we really appreciate your interest! The purpose of this blog is to raise awareness of (and possibly persuade you to support) the RNIB. If we manage to achieve either of these objectives, please please please take a couple of seconds to post a quick comment at the bottom of the page to tell us what you thought. The RNIB (Royal National Institute for the Blind) is, to put it simply, a charity hoping to support blind people, and make life for them a little bit easier.

Did you know…

That globally, every 5 seconds a person goes blind? With the help of the RNIB some of these people will be able to come to terms and cope with their disability.

That around 15 million children around the world are blind? The RNIB can only help a certain amount of those children, but with your help and support they can help more - therefore more children can do things we take for granted.

That if a blind person can learn to read Braille, they have a chance of getting a good job and earning enough money to live the life they desire?

That some people do victimise the blind, and that blind people have feelings too? And being constantly bullied and picked on does hurt those feelings. A lot.

If this blog has aroused your interest in this worthy cause, then check out their brilliant website: http://www.rnib.org.uk/Pages/Home.aspx

We need to do something about helping the blind, and by showing your support for the RNIB by spreading the word, donating, or commenting on this blog you will be doing just that.

Thank you once again for reading our blog, and we want to again urge you to post a quick comment telling us whether you
1) Had heard of the RNIB before?
2) Would be willing to support them in their campaign?
3) Would consider informing other people of this charity?

And, if possible, could you please tell us where you come from (country + home town)?

Best Wishes, Charlotte and Hannah

I had heard of RNIB but i did not know what it stood for but now i know (Royal National Institute for the Blind)
I would be willing to support the campaign as i could not imagine how it would feel to be blind so why not help those that are.
I would like to get more people involved in this campaign as i feel strong towards the cause.

As a person who has never experienced a close friend of family member with such a disability i think for me it would be useful to learn more and help other people understand as i have reading your blog.

  8. I have never heard of the RNIB before, and to be honest I now know that they are an amazing charity. I never knew how much work goes into a charity, but it is clear from your blog that they work very hard. I will definitely be supporting and donating money to them very soon. Thank you for informing me.
